Topaz Park is a large recreational park located in the Hillside-Quadra neighborhood of Victoria, BC. It features four sport fields, including an artificial turf field, a sport box, washrooms, a dog leash-optional area, fitness equipment, and a playground. In 2021-22, the City invested nearly $10 million to construct a new all-wheels skatepark and bike park and replace the artificial turf sport field as part of a long-term renewal plan for the park. The improvements were designed with accessibility and inclusion in mind, and the new facilities are suitable for visitors of all ages and abilities. Additionally, a team of consultants and community stakeholders is working to replace and expand the artificial turf sport field to include a full-size soccer pitch, youth-size multi-purpose field, and softball diamond, as well as improved field support amenities such as player shelters, a backstop, and spectator seating. Construction is underway and the new facility is expected to be open for use in early 2023.
