Cadboro-Gyro Park

About this place

Nestled along the scenic shores of Cadboro Bay, this charming park offers a delightful combination of natural beauty and recreational amenities. With its sandy beach and captivating vistas of the Juan de Fuca Strait and Olympic Peninsula, visitors can indulge in a day of relaxation or fun-filled activities. Children can enjoy the thrilling zipline and slide down the playful octopus in the playground, while families can make use of the picnic areas for a leisurely outdoor meal. The park also features tennis courts, a boat launch for non-motorized craft, and a seasonal wheelchair accessible beach ramp. As you explore the park, keep an eye out for the legendary "Cadborosaurus," a mysterious sea creature said to have been spotted in these waters since the 1930s. Adding to its intrigue, Cadboro Bay carries historical significance, as archaeological evidence suggests that the Lkwungen First Nations once inhabited this bay for nearly 2,000 years. However, do note that dogs must be leashed within 10 meters of the playground and are not allowed in the park or on the beach from May 1 to August 31, except before 9 a.m.
